About Excel to HTML Table

Excel to HTML Table turns a sheet into ready-to-paste HTML table code, with optional CSS so the table already looks presentable on a web page. A live preview shows the result before you copy it. Handy for putting a price list or timetable on a website or in a blog post without hand-typing rows. The workbook is read in your browser and the code stays on your device.

How to use Excel to HTML Table

  1. Choose your Excel or CSV file and pick the sheet.
  2. Keep First row as header ticked so the top row becomes proper th cells.
  3. Leave Include CSS styling on for a styled table, or untick it to use your own site's styles.
  4. Click Generate HTML, then copy the code or download it as an .html file.

What people use it for

  • Publishing a rate card or fee structure on a school or shop website
  • Adding a comparison table to a blog post from data you already keep in a sheet
  • Pasting a timetable into a CMS page without building the markup by hand
  • Printing Indian language data to PDF through the browser, which the Excel to PDF tool cannot do

Good to know

All cell text is HTML-escaped, so ampersands and angle brackets in your data cannot break the page. Only values are exported: cell colours, merged cells, formulas, images and charts are not converted. The optional CSS is a small self-contained style block; remove it if your site already styles tables. The preview runs in a sandboxed frame.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the generated code in WordPress?
Yes. Paste it into a Custom HTML block. Untick Include CSS styling if your theme already styles tables, otherwise the style block comes along with the table.
Are special characters safe?
Yes, every cell is escaped, so ampersands and angle brackets appear as text instead of breaking the page markup. The rupee sign and Indian language text pass through unchanged.
Is the table responsive on mobile?
The table is set to full width, but very wide tables still need a scrolling wrapper on small screens. Add your own container div with overflow-x set to auto.
Can this help me print Hindi data to PDF?
Yes. Generate the HTML, open it in your browser and use Print to PDF; the browser's own fonts handle Indian scripts that the Excel to PDF tool cannot.
