About Merge Excel Files
Merge Excel Files combines several workbooks or CSVs into one. Stack mode piles all the rows under a single header and matches columns by their names, even if the files list them in a different order. Sheets mode keeps each file as its own tab. Built for the monthly-file habit that most shops and offices fall into. All files are read in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
How to use Merge Excel Files
- Drop at least two Excel or CSV files in, then drag them in the list to set the order.
- Pick Stack rows into one sheet, or Each file as a separate sheet.
- Keep Add Source file column ticked so you can still tell which file a row came from.
- Tick Include all sheets of each file if the workbooks have more than one tab worth merging.
- Click Merge files and download merged.xlsx.
What people use it for
- Rolling twelve monthly sales files into one sheet before a yearly GST reconciliation
- Combining branch-wise or salesman-wise reports into a single pivot source
- Joining daily POS exports into one workbook at the end of the month
- Putting several vendors' price lists side by side as separate tabs for comparison
Good to know
In stack mode the first row of every file is treated as its header. Columns are matched by heading text, so a heading spelled differently in one file becomes an extra column; tidy the headings first for a clean merge. Formulas are merged as their calculated values, and formatting, charts and images are not carried across. Sheet names longer than 31 characters are shortened.
