About PDF to PNG

PDF to PNG converts each page of a PDF into a PNG image. PNG is lossless, so text edges, tables and line drawings stay crisp with none of the softness JPEG introduces, which helps when the image will be zoomed, printed or edited further. Choose a resolution, convert all pages or a few, and download them. Processing stays in your browser.

How to use PDF to PNG

  1. Load your PDF into the tool.
  2. Set the format to PNG and pick a resolution; 220 or 300 DPI keeps small print readable.
  3. Limit the job with page numbers such as 1, 3-6, or leave the box blank to convert everything.
  4. Click Convert pages and save the PNG files.

What people use it for

  • Exporting a circuit diagram or floor plan page at print quality for a report.
  • Making clean images of a GST invoice to paste into an email or a presentation.
  • Preparing sharp page images before OCR, where JPEG artefacts hurt recognition accuracy.
  • Saving a signature or seal page without any compression blur.

Good to know

PNG files are far larger than JPG for the same page, often three to five times, because nothing is discarded. Pages are drawn onto solid white, so the PNG will not be transparent. If you are fighting an upload limit measured in KB, use PDF to JPG instead and pick a lower resolution.

Frequently asked questions

PNG or JPG, which should I pick?
Choose PNG for text, tables and diagrams that must stay sharp, and JPG when file size matters, such as a portal upload capped in KB. PNG is lossless but much heavier.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. Each page is rendered onto a white background before saving, so the PNG is opaque. Use an image editor afterwards if you specifically need transparency.
How many pages can I convert at once?
There is no fixed limit, but every page is rendered in your device's memory. On a phone, convert long documents in batches of twenty or thirty pages using the Pages box.
