About Image to PDF

Image to PDF turns a set of photos or scans into one PDF document. You can reorder the pages, choose A4, Letter, Legal, A3, A5 or a page that matches the image, set portrait or landscape, add a margin and pick the image quality. Each picture becomes one page. The PDF is built in your browser with pdf-lib, so your documents are never uploaded.

How to use Image to PDF

  1. Add all your images - use the arrows in the list to put them in the right page order.
  2. Pick a page size: A4 for most Indian offices, or Same as image to avoid any border.
  3. Set orientation to Auto, Portrait or Landscape, and choose a margin.
  4. Adjust image quality if you need a smaller PDF, and type a file name.
  5. Click Create PDF and download the finished document.

What people use it for

  • Combining photos of a marksheet, Aadhaar and PAN into a single PDF for a college or job application.
  • Turning pictures of handwritten notes into one PDF to share with classmates.
  • Making a PDF of invoice or bill photographs to send to an accountant or for a GST filing.
  • Packaging product photos into a one-page-per-item catalogue for a customer on WhatsApp.

Good to know

Accepts JPG, PNG, WEBP and other common formats, and every page is embedded as a JPEG at the quality you choose, so transparency becomes white. Lowering the quality slider is the main way to keep a photo-heavy PDF small. The result is an image PDF - the text inside a photographed page is not searchable. A very large batch depends on your device's memory.

Frequently asked questions

Is the text in my PDF searchable?
No. Each page is a picture of your document, so text cannot be searched or selected. Run the photo through the Image to Text OCR tool first if you need selectable text.
How do I change the page order?
Use the up and down arrows next to each file in the list before clicking Create PDF. The list order is exactly the page order of the finished document.
Why is my PDF so large?
High-resolution camera photos carry a lot of data. Lower the image quality slider to 60 to 75 percent, or compress the photos first, and the PDF will shrink considerably.
Are my documents uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is assembled by JavaScript inside your browser tab, and the file only exists on your device. Closing the tab clears everything.
