About Word to PDF

Word to PDF converts a .docx document into a PDF you can email, upload to a job portal or attach to a government form. You get two options: a downloaded PDF that preserves the look including Hindi and other Indian scripts, or a browser print that produces selectable, searchable text. The document is converted inside your browser, so a resume or contract is never uploaded.

How to use Word to PDF

  1. Choose your .docx file; a preview of the converted document appears below.
  2. Check the preview to confirm headings, lists and tables came through as expected.
  3. Click Download PDF for a page-perfect PDF that supports every language.
  4. Or click Print / Save as PDF and choose Save as PDF in your browser's print dialog for selectable text.

What people use it for

  • Converting a resume to PDF before uploading it to Naukri, LinkedIn or a company portal
  • Sending a quotation or offer letter in a format the recipient cannot accidentally edit
  • Submitting a college assignment where the instructions ask for PDF only
  • Freezing a signed-off agreement draft so the wording cannot drift

Good to know

Only .docx works; a legacy .doc file must first be opened in Word or Google Docs and saved as .docx. Conversion uses Mammoth, which keeps text, headings, lists, tables, links and images but deliberately ignores styling detail, so headers and footers, page numbers, text boxes, columns, embedded charts and complex layouts may not survive. Check the preview before you send the file anywhere important.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my .doc file rejected?
The tool reads the modern .docx format only. Open the file in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs and save it as .docx, then convert it here.
What is the difference between the two buttons?
Download PDF renders the pages as images, so the look and every script including Hindi are kept but the text is not selectable. Print / Save as PDF keeps text selectable and searchable.
Will my headers, footers and page numbers appear?
Usually not. The converter reads the document body, so headers, footers, page numbers, text boxes and multi-column layouts are commonly lost. Check the preview first.
Do images in the document come through?
Inline images generally do. Embedded objects such as charts, SmartArt, equations and linked spreadsheets often do not, so verify anything visual in the preview.
