About CSV to JSON
Turn a spreadsheet export into the JSON array an API or a JavaScript app expects. Paste the CSV or open a .csv or .tsv file and the rows appear as JSON objects instantly, keyed by your header row. Useful for developers seeding a database, students loading sample data, and anyone moving a contact or product list out of Excel. Parsing happens entirely in your browser.
How to use CSV to JSON
- Paste your CSV into the left pane or click Open file to load a .csv, .tsv or .txt file.
- Keep First row is header ticked so column names become JSON keys, or untick it for plain arrays.
- Tick Detect numbers and booleans if you want 91 as a number instead of the text "91".
- Turn Pretty print off when you want compact single-line JSON.
- Copy the output or download it as data.json.
What people use it for
- Converting a product or price list exported from Excel into seed data for an app
- Preparing a student marks sheet as JSON for a college project or a chart library
- Feeding a contact list into an API that only accepts a JSON array
- Quickly checking how a CSV will look once your backend has parsed it
Good to know
Commas, semicolons and tabs are detected automatically, and quoted fields containing commas or line breaks are handled correctly. Blank lines are skipped. With type detection on, values like 007 lose their leading zeros and long numbers such as Aadhaar or phone numbers can lose precision, so untick it for identifier columns.
